Longing for some fresh seafood dishes in Geylang Serai? Well, Mutiara Seafood in Wisma Geylang Serai has opened their doors, serving halal-certified seafood dishes perfect for family gatherings!

Halal-certified food will always be appreciated in Singapore, considering how close to 15% of our population are of the Muslim community. I am sure they will be ecstatic to know that there is a fresh seafood joint joining their food options.

With a total seating capacity of 176, Mutiara Seafood makes for an excellent place to host family gatherings. There are even VIP rooms for those who prefer a quieter ambience to spend with their folks. JUMBO’s motto— “Bonding people through food”— truly shines in their intentions of providing a comforting environment perfect for a family meal.

Cendol Geylang Serai: $2 traditional cendol with 50 years of history in Geylang Serai Market

This restaurant would be the company’s first halal seafood concept. Wanting to give Malay community the opportunity to try out halal versions of their seafood dishes, JUMBO selected the prime location of Wisma Geylang Serai.

A thoughtful decision Mutiara Seafood that made was with regards to the menu design. Rather than having an all English menu, it contains Malay descriptions as well as names. Since most of the older generation Muslims are more familiar with Malay, this design makes for attention to detail.

The must-try would be JUMBO’s famous Signature Chilli Crab, available in 3 crab options — Alaskan Crab (S$26.80/100g), Mud Crab (S$9.80/100g) and Dungeness Crab (S$8.80/100g). Now that there is a halal version, our Malay friends will not miss out on the popular Singaporean delicacy.

Mutiara Seafood — Fish Maw soup with Chicken — Credit

One dish held in especially high regard would be the Clear Fish Maw Soup with Chicken (S$28 for small, S$42 for medium, S$56 for large). Full of ingredients, the hearty broth was said to be to die for. For extra indulgence, the Braised Crab Meat and Fish Maw Soup would make for a wonderful alternative.

With a wide variety of dishes, Mutiara Seafood is sure to invite many customers that will definitely be returning for more. Bring a couple of mouths for the full experience this seafood place has to offer!
