Picture the word "snacking" and your mind might conjure up images of delicious foods and sweet treats.

But TV presenter and author Julia Bradbury has given another use to the word: "Nature snacking."

We all know that spending time outdoors is good for us, but the idea behind nature snacking is that small, yet regular, doses can make a big difference.

Taking to Instagram, Julia shared a video of herself enjoying the beautiful sunrise.

She says that natural processes and natural experiences restore our relationships, our minds and our bodies.

Yet not enough of us are spending enough time in nature, she suggests. According to Julia, our connection to nature is one of the most critical factors overlooked in 21st Century living - and it's playing a major role in our health.

"Finding luminal moments in nature can be calming and have a restorative impact," Julia told her Instagram followers.

She added: "Liminality is the in-between phenomenon within time and space. The liminal space occurs when say, flowers leave the tree and are being replaced by green leaves.

"There is this time in between when there isn't a green leaf on the tree and not a flower. Or the time in-between sunset and darkness... a threshold.

"Our bodies and our hormones are driven biologically by the daylight/darkness cycle. I explore this in detail with Professor Russell Foster in Walk Yourself Happy.

"Exposing ourselves to daylight in the early morning and spending as much time outside as possible during the day can have a huge (positive) impact on our health.

"If you're not spending any time in nature, it's impacting your health.
