Joyce Cheng never thought about winning in Nice

30 Mar - Hong Kong singer-actress Joyce Cheng admitted that she is still on cloud nine over her Best Supporting Actress nomination at the upcoming 2017 Nice International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema, which she earned for her role in "29+1".

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at an Easter event recently, enthused, "I am so happy! The movie itself is great. I wasn't confident about playing the role before, and I was nervous because the movie was based on the director's stage play. But she helped me a lot."

Joyce stated that she is already feeling like a winner by just being nominated, adding that she plans to attend the festival just so she could meet with other stars.

As to whether she hopes to win the award, the actress said, "I never thought about that. I just hope that the audience will give their support when the movie is released in Hong Kong."

The upcoming French awards ceremony will be held on 11 May 2017.
