While Joy Villa's fans were less-than-pleased after she walked the Grammys red carpet in a dress emblazoned with "Make America Great Again" on the front and "Trump" on the back, it appears the singer's very political sartorial choice has paid off.

After making headlines for the pro-Trump garment, the 25-year-old's EP I Make The Static shot to number one on the iTunes download chart thanks to the support of her newfound, pro-Trump fans. Joy also saw a massive increase in her social media following as a result of the dress: According to Idolator, she went from 15,000 Twitter followers prior to the Grammys on Sunday to 105,000 followers as of the publication of this piece.

"We did it!," the singer wrote in an Instagram post celebrating her rise to the top of the charts. "Your support and love have changed the nation's dialogue from one of hate to that of love and acceptance. No more being hidden, no more shame for standing on what you believe in. No matter your religion, your race or your political views remember you have a right to uphold them. Personal integrity is the highest honor of all. I'm honored you have chosen to follow and support my music and my message of love! We stand together as United States of America and a united whole world in love, respect, and an open dialogue!"

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the designer of the dress - Filipino immigrant Andre Soriano - echoed Joy's support for the current president, although he denied to comment on anything specific.

"We need to move this country forward, and we believe it’s time to promote love," he said. "We only live once, and we need to promote love. We have one president now who is going to do the best thing for planet America."

"Joy Villa is all about love with her music," he continued. "I’m like, ' Joy, We have to make a statement on what is right for our country, of what we believe in, for the Constitution.'"

Trump has not offered a statement in response at this time.
