Jordan Brand Is Getting Into the Dad Shoe Business With Its Chunky New Sneaker
With the recent appearance of the CMFT Era walking shoe, the retro-informed Flight Court model and the forthcoming resurgence of the retro Trunner line, it’s clear that Jordan Brand is making a concerted push to expand its footwear offerings. Another newly surfaced sneaker further supports this initiative, and it’s already drumming up a fair amount of attention.
Shared on Instagram by @kicksdong, who labeled the shoe as the Jordan LOR, the newest lifestyle sneaker from the brand is actually said to be known as the Jordan Trunner O/S. Serving as a continuation of the cult favorite runner-meets-trainer line introduced by the brand in 1999, the Trunner O/S represents a new approach for the franchise.

First seen in a dark gray “Cave Stone” colorway, the Trunner O/S combines a mesh base with suede overlays and is supported by a large TPU wing featuring Jordan branding on its lateral side. The shoe sits on a thick, ribbed midsole which is decoupled at the middle. Due to the tonal gray look and overall chunky profile, many commentators on social media are comparing the upcoming release to popular “dad shoes” such as the New Balance 992.
In addition to this new model, Jordan’s original Trunner LX sneaker is set to return to retail this year. New styles of the throwback model were showcased during NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco. While it’s never been fully embraced by the mainstream consumer, the Trunner LX has a cult following amongst enthusiasts and was even the model chosen for Travis Scott’s first (yet still unreleased) Jordan Brand collaboration.
Infamously, around 650,000 pairs of certain Trunner models were voluntarily recalled by Nike, Inc. in 2001 after some wearers were injured by a piece of metal used near the heel. Following the recall, Nike removed the metal from the shoe’s design.
Early information points to the Jordan Trunner O/S arriving during holiday 2025 for a retail price of $110. The colorway pictured here is “Cave Stone/Enigma Stone/Ridgerock/White” and has a SKU of IB3722-200.
