8 Aug – John Woo has finally found the right man to star in the reimagining of his 1989 crime movie, "The Killer".
According to Deadline, French actor Omar Sy, most known for Netflix's "Lupin", will play the lead, possibly the new version of Chow Yun-Fat's disillusioned assassin, Ah Jong.
It was earlier this year that John Woo announced that he will be making his directorial comeback via the movie, which will debut on NBC's streaming service, Peacock in 2023.
The original movie, which became a big hit, tells the story of Ah Jong, who accepts one last hit job in hopes to use the money to restore the vision of a singer he accidentally blinded. The film made HKD 18.255 million at the box office in 1989.
No news as to whether the reimagining will have a similar storyline.
