John Lewis & Partners is selling a kit to make your very own face covering amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The longstanding department store launched the Prym Make Your Own Face Masks Sewing Kit, which previously sold out due to popular demand.

However, the non-medical DIY face mask is now back in stock.

The replenished item comes just in time: wearing a face covering in shops and supermarkets will be mandatory from July 24 in England.

This news follows the government guidelines that were put in place in June, which made masks compulsory on public transport in the UK to help defend against the coronavirus.

Only children under the age of 11 and those with disabilities or certain health conditions will be exempt from the rule.

The World Health Organization also advises protective gear should be worn in public where social distancing is not possible to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

In recent weeks, numerous high street brands, including ASOS, Anthropologie and Mango have begun to sell non-medical face masks, as well as the supermarket chain Aldi.

But John Lewis & Partners have gone one step further and are allowing shoppers to get creative with their face mask by equipping them with all of the essentials to make the covering from scratch.

The bundle, which makes four different face coverings with different patterns, comes complete with four pieces of fabric, four nose bridges, as well as elastic and sewing instructions.

Whether you are an experiences sewer or beginner - fear not, as this set is simple to create for all levels.

The site has stressed the face covering is not suitable for those with breathing difficulties or under the age of three years old.

The bundle is super affordable, as it retails for just £14.99.

Plus, 100% of proceeds from this item will go towards NHS Charities Together.

John Lewis & Partners is also selling face coverings from British designer brands in a pack of three, which include Julien Macdonald, Rixo and LiamHodges, as well as Mulberry, Raeburn and Halpern for £15.
