John Lewis gives its beauty offering a boost

John Lewis department store on Oxford Street in London

British retailer John Lewis is supercharging its beauty business, reports Women's Wear Daily, as it looks to pump 9 billion pounds ($11.8 billion) into its in-store beauty spaces and product range.

The investment will go towards several store refurbishments, with new brands joining the John Lewis lineup, including Marc Jacobs Beauty, MAC Cosmetics, Chanel, Jo Malone, Urban Decay, La Prairie and Tom Ford Beauty.

The store and product boost follows on the heels of the brand's new full-service beauty spa at its Birmingham location and a Clarins Beauty bar at John Lewis Oxford Street in London. The retailer will open additional shops in Chelmsford and Leeds in the fall.
