Joel Chan & Florinda Ho may break up
19 Dec – He might have received public backlash after divorcing his wife of ten years, Ponny Yeung, for the younger and richer Florinda Ho. Now he may be receiving more public backlash as Joel Chan's relationship with Florinda may be heading straight for splitsville.
According to Popular Asians, recently, a tabloid reported that Joel and Florinda's relationship may be on the rocks after they were spotted having a huge row at Florinda mother's birthday celebration on 5 December. It was reported that the couple has not been on good terms ever since.
It was also rumoured that the actor had been drinking extensively, and even begged TVB's executive Virginia Lok to arrange a comeback for him after it was reported that he was frozen by TVB for not meeting the requirements of the contract earlier this year.
On the one hand, when asked if Joel had requested for a comeback in the industry, Virginia Lok did not give a direct answer, but implied that the actor had indeed contacted her as of late. On the other hand, TVB producer Lee Tim Shing confirmed that Joel made a visit to TVB City recently, stating, "I asked Joel whether he will still act or not and he said he will have to think about it."
In regards to the breakup rumour, Florinda's younger sister, Laurinda Ho, did not dispel nor confirmed it like she once had, but only stated, "Do not ask me! I will not answer anything about my sister's matters!"
