Joe Biden Rallies DNC: ‘Trump Has No Clue, Period’

PHILADELPHIA — Joseph Biden delivered a speech to the Democratic National Convention that touched on the loss of his son Beau, his friendship with Hillary Clinton and the threat he sees from the candidacy of Donald Trump.

Biden drew huge cheers as he hammered Trump on his qualifications.

“He has no clue about what makes America great — actually he has no clue, period,” he said.

The crowd at the Wells Fargo Arena then broke into chants of “Not a Clue!”

He also referenced Trump’s signature line from “The Apprentice.”

“His lack of empathy can be summed up in a phrase he made famous, ‘You’re fired,'” Biden said.

He called Trump a man “who confuses bluster with strength.”

Biden teared up as he recalled his son Beau, who died last year of brain cancer, and how he had placed his name into nomination for vice president at the 2008 Democratic convention.

“We think about the countless thousands of other people who have suffered so much more than we have with so much less support,” he said.

Biden decided against a run for president, saying the timing was not right as his family coped with their loss.

He tied their experience to that of hard times in the country.

“We endure, we overcome, and we always move forward,” he said.

Biden also gave a shout out to MPAA chairman Chris Dodd, his former Senate colleague who was sitting with the Connecticut delegation.
