Joanna Dong to compete in "Sing! China" finals

2 Oct - It is official. Joanna Dong is now the second Singaporean singer going to the "Sing! China" finals.

The jazz performer, who competed against her fellow Singaporean contestant and team member Olinda Cho in the latest episode aired on 29 September, was chosen to represent the team in the upcoming finals.

Prior to the announcement, both contestants performed with guest singer, Harlem Yu. Joanna chose Harlem's "True Love Song", while Olinda performed Jay's hit, "Silence".

The former ended up winning 51 votes from the mentors and panel members.

She also beat teammate Darren by 36 to 15 during her solo performance - in which she sang a mash-up of "Open Arms" and "Lover's Tears".

Joanna will be competing against four other finalists on 8 October - Team Na Ying's Doris Guo, Eason Chan's pick Xiao Kaiye and Ye Xiaoyue, and the Tibetan Zhaxipingcuo from Team Liu Huan.

Last year, Singaporean singer Nathan Hartono, who was also team Jay Chou, won second place in the finals.
