JJ Lin and Mayday big winners at Hito Music Awards


7 Jun - JJ Lin emerged as the biggest solo winner at the 2017 Hito Pop Music Awards, which was held on 4 June in Taipei.

As reported on Epoch Times, the singer-songwriter bagged four awards including Most Popular Male Singer, Top 10 Songs of the Year (for "Twilight"), and Singapore's Most Respected Singer.

He also opened the show by performing a medley of songs, including his 2011 hit, "Fear", accompanied by an orchestra.

On the other hand, Taiwanese band Mayday also bagged four awards at the event, including Top 10 Songs of the Year, Hito Best Band, and FMGlobal Media Awards.

The band was also the last performer of the night.

Other winners include Rainie Yang, who won Most Popular Female Artiste; Jay Chou (Best Male Artiste); and Yoga Lin (Best Arrangement).
