Jim Carrey Shares Support for Ariana Grande After She Mentions Him in Message About Depression
Jim Carrey is showing Ariana Grande some love in return after she seemingly looked to him for guidance while dealing with depression.
Grande has been very open recently about her struggles with depression, and took to her Instagram story over the weekend to share a quote from the comedian.
"Depression is your body saying, 'I don't want to be this character anymore. I don't want to hold up this avatar that you've created in the world. It's too much for me,'" a quote, which was posted over a picture of Carrey, read. "You should think of the word 'depressed' as 'deep rest.' Your body needs to be depressed. It needs deep rest from the character that you've been trying to play."
Beneath the quote, Grande -- who is a self-confessed Carrey superfan -- wrote -- "The whole LOML [love of my life] forever," along with a heart emoji.
On Sunday -- hours before Grande took the stage to close out the second weekend of Coachella with special guest Justin Bieber -- Carrey took to Twitter to thank Grande and share some insight into his quoted remarks.

"I admire your openness. I wish you freedom and peace," Carrey added. "I feel blessed to have such a gifted admirer. Happy Easter!"
Grande's post came shortly after the singer got candid about the challenges of performing live, and admitted that she feels "empty" in her life.
"Making [music] is healing. Performing it is like reliving it all over again and it is hell," Grande wrote in a since-deleted tweet. Responding to a fan, Grande also confessed, "I just feel empty and i wanna have more to say / better energy to give to u and rn i don’t have anything. love u."
