14 Sep – Jet Li recently admitted that he was so thankful and trusting of wife Nina Li Chi that he decided to hand over his RMB2 billion wealth for her to manage.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor shared that he is full of gratitude for Nina, whom he married in 1999, for sacrificing her own career in showbiz to focus on taking care of their family.

"When I was young, there was a girl who loved me and I thought I loved her too. But after meeting Nina, I knew for sure it was love, such love that I would have abandoned fame and fortune for her and die for her. Every day is full of passion," he said.

Jet also thought it was important for him to apologise to his ex-wife Huang Qiuyan, saying, "To my former wife, I want to say I am sorry. I was wrong. I just learned what true love is."

It is noted that Jet was married to Huang for three years from 1987 to 1990 prior to meeting Nina, whom he worked with in "Dragon Fight" in 1988.

Speaking of their 21 years of marriage, Jet stated that the former beauty queen is always smiling and cares a lot about their two daughters Jane and Jada.

"It makes me feel worthy as a husband," he added.

Work-wise, the martial arts star can currently be seen playing the emperor in Disney's live-action "Mulan", which also stars Crystal Liu, Donnie Yen and Gong Li.
