Jeremiah Brent went all in for his first season as one of the Fab 5 on Queer Eye. The key to being able to manage those transformations was having HomeGoods employees in and around Las Vegas on speed dial. “I’ve been in every single f*cking HomeGoods that exists in that area,” Brent, an interior designer, told House Beautiful editorial director Joanna Saltz. “I had the store managers on text message, because you get a new drop every Tuesday, sometimes Thursdays, but I'd have to drive to Summerland, which was 30 min away.”

That’s dedication. If you, too, are an avid HomeGoods shopper or are new to the game, Brent recommended starting with the gem aisle. (He's obsessed with crystals!) “There’s a lot of good stuff,” he said. “It's really good. It's very dangerous.”

It’s no surprise the designer enlisted the help of store insiders considering the show’s tight time restraints. “We had to do those homes in 48 hours,” he said. “It wasn't fake.”

Even though the process was intense, the late nights were well worth it for those life-changing makeovers. “What was fascinating to me was watching people and what they reached for, and the thought process, and what it means to spend $60 on a rug, and the intentionality behind it—what they need and what they're looking for, what people don't have access to still,” Brent said. “An so I left the show more committed than ever to find a way to help everybody live beautifully in a way that doesn't feel like you have got to worry about paying groceries that month because you bought a pillow.”
