Jennylyn Mercado: I wouldn't have said no if I knew!

The actress wouldn't have backed out from her movie if she knew her drama would be postponed

27 Sep - Jennylyn Mercado is no stranger to the Metro Manila Film Festival, having won the MMFF Best Actress award twice in a row. She might also win it for the third time this year, when it was announced that she is set to star in a new MMFF movie alongside Coco Martin.

However, the project was suddenly cancelled and Martin quickly moved to another project with his "Beauty and the Bestie" co-star, Vice Ganda.

When asked why the sudden change, Mercado recently explained that she had to back out from the movie to focus on her upcoming drama, which is said to be the Filipino remake of the hit Korean drama, "My Love From the Stars", ABS-CBN reported.

"I wanted to focus on the drama because I was worried that [working in two projects] would exhaust me. But then the drama was delayed," she said.

Mercado said that she wouldn't have backed out from the project with Martin if she knew that it would turn out this way.

Now that her schedule is open, the actress said that she is using her free time to focus on her new album, "Ultimate".
