Jennifer Yu honoured with Best Actress by the HK Film Directors' Guild

18 Mar - Jennifer Yu has recently been honoured with the Best Actress title yet again, this time by the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild.

The actress, who won for her performance in "In Broad Daylight" for the second time after she was honoured by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society, said that it felt amazing to reach this point and to accept the award from presenter Carina Lau.

"I worked with Carina in my second film, ["In Your Dreams"]. At the time, I didn't get many roles. I didn't even know if I would ever have the opportunity to do movies again. When I heard the applause from the audience, I felt like everybody cherished me," she said.

Jennifer also said that she is happy to win the award alongside Carina's husband, Tony Leung, whom was honoured with the Best Actor accolade.

"I hope to have the opportunity to work with him in the future," she said.

Asked if she is confident about her chance at the upcoming Hong Kong Film Awards, the actress, who is nominated in the similar category for the movie, said that she wouldn't think too far ahead.

"Let's have fun tonight because I was pregnant last year and couldn't do any movies," she added.
