Jennifer Lawrence fans have now got their first glimpse at the actress in her new drama movie Causeway as its official trailer has been released.

The Oscar-winning actress is well known for her performances in the Hunger Games and X-Men movies, but she's now taken on a very different role as she plays an army veteran in the upcoming film.

Causeway, which is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival later in October, sees Lawrence lead the cast as injured soldier Lynsey. After sustaining a debilitating brain injury during her service in Afghanistan, Lynsey is faced with a challenge as she must return and adjust to life back home in New Orleans.

Causeway's new trailer sees Lawrence sat on a park bench alongside Eternals and Atlanta star Brian Tyree Henry.

Henry's character appears to be offering up some words of advice, support and comfort to the former soldier as she struggles with her return to civilian life.

Featuring alongside Lawrence and Henry in the production are Succession actress Linda Emond, Only Murders in the Building star Jayne Houdyshell, Dune actor Stephen McKinley Henderson and Fargo's Russell Harvard.

As well as starring in the new movie, Lawrence is also on board as a producer while Lila Neugebauer directs.

Causeway is set to be released on Apple TV+ on November 4, 2022, but it's not the only project Lawrence has been working on for the streaming service.

The actress is soon set to reunite with Don't Look Up director Adam McKay as the pair team up for new movie Bad Blood.

Based on the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist John Carreyrou, Bad Blood will tell the story of tech mogul Elizabeth Holmes and her involvement in the Theranos scandal.

Away from Apple, Lawrence has another drama movie on the horizon as she's set to star alongside The Crown's Josh O'Connor in Mob Girl, which is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2023.

Causeway releases on Apple TV+ on 4 November 2022.
