Jennifer Coosemans named Miss Chinese International

26 Jan - Vancouver's bet, Jennifer Coosemans, has recently been named the 2016 Miss Chinese International at the event that was held on 23 January in Hong Kong.

According to HK Channel, the 21-year-old multilingual beauty impressed the judges with not only her ability to speak English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and French, but also her athleticism, as she performed a cheerleading stunt during the talent portion of the pageant.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Mary Chen from New York was named the first runner-up, followed by Sydney-based Tiana Luan, 23, in third place.

The fourth and fifth spots were given to Bangkok's Mint Kongraphan and Nanjing's Sophia Wu, while the Los Angeles-based Alice Wong won Miss Congeniality.

However, Hong Kong's own bet, Louisa Mak, who previously charmed the public with her academic achievements at the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, failed to secure a spot in the top five.

Judges of the Miss Chinese International Pageant 2016 include Alex Fong, Ruco Chan, Sammy Shum, and former beauty queens Grace Chan, Sisley Choi and Tracy Chu.
