*Warning: The White Lotus season two spoilers below*

The world is still reeling from *that* shock death at the end of The White Lotus season two, which saw Jennifer Coolidge's much-loved character Tanya McQuoid slip and hit her head while trying to escape from a yacht filled with 'murderous gays'. Whole Twitter and Reddit threads have been dedicated to desperate attempts to find a way in which she might still grace us with her presence in season three, with some pretty wild theories knocking about...

Sadly, however, it seems no one can argue with her literal dead body floating in the Sicilian sea and being discovered by Meghann Fahy's Daphne – nor the fact that show creator Mike White has actually confirmed that Tanya is no more. But it may not be all doom and gloom, as fans have started a campaign for none other than Pamela Anderson to join the cast as Tanya's grieving sister – and it might not be totally out of the question.

Speaking backstage at the SAG Awards, Coolidge seemed open to the idea when asked about the now-viral campaign by Entertainment Tonight. 'Oh, wow!' she responded to a journalist asking her what she makes of Pamela Anderson playing her sister. 'I just recently saw Pam's documentary and I called 100 people to watch it,' she continued. 'And I swear to God, we all had the same reaction. It's amazing. You finally get the real story and she's got this huge comeback.'

White Lotus co-star John Gries, who plays Coolidge's on-screen husband, then chimed in with, 'What if Jennifer played Jennifer's twin sister?' Coolidge laughed, but then said 'I don't think Mike [White]'s going to allow that.' Well, it was worth a try!

Pamela Anderson has also responded to the fan-led campaign for her to join the cast, telling Drew Barrymore on her talk show that she has 'heard about it.' The Baywatch icon went on to say of the suggestion: 'I think that would be an incredible challenge, but like I said, I'm not an ambitious person. I just like to go with the flow. So, I don't really know what's next but I know I haven't really had the opportunity to see what I'm capable of on film yet.' We're certainly keeping all our fingers crossed...
