Jennie Kim's camp clarifies the use of the name "Ruby"

20 Sep - Jennie's camp has recently released a statement responding to the misunderstanding that occurred following the singer's use of the word "Ruby" to refer to her fans.

The whole issue sparked after the BLACKPINK member released a voice message to fans, saying, "Hi, Rubies! It's Jennie. Stay tuned and see you soon!"

Netizens who heard the message quickly speculated that Jennie has picked the name Ruby to refer to her fans. However, they quickly noted that the word has already been picked by singer Kwon Eun-bi's official fandom.

OA Entertainment had since responded to the issue, saying, "We only referred to fans arbitrarily on the news page where we deliver news to fans. We did not officially announce the fandom name."

It is noted that Jennie's reason for calling her fans Ruby was due to it being taken from her own name Jennie Ruby Jane that she trademarked and used when she starred in the HBO series, "The Idol".
