Jeffree Star Extends an Olive Branch to Kat Von D

Jeffree Star is finally opening up about his history with Kat Von D - and it seems like he’s ready to leave their messy feud behind them.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel on Wednesday, Jeffree introduced a new series in which he gives the stories behind his many tattoos, starting with the ones on his neck and torso. As he explains in the video, prior to their highly publicized feud earlier this year, he and Kat had been friends for over ten years, and a lot of his ink was actually done by her. But rather than express regret or use this as an opportunity to attack her, instead makes it clear he has absolutely nothing but respect for her talents.

"I would never disrespect Kat’s art - I just want to put that out there," he said. "No matter what happened, no matter what she did to me, no matter what played out, at the end of the day, I respect her artwork. I think that she is one of the best portrait tattoo artists in the entire world."

"I am just blessed and honored to be covered by her work," he continued. "And I will never be ashamed of that, no matter what happened, that will never take away those feelings... The drama is dead in my eyes, and what happened happened."

Later in the video, Jeffree thumbs through some of Kat’s published books and reads aloud a couple of the notes she wrote to him in them. In response, he addresses her directly - again thanking her for tattooing him.

"Kat, if you are watching this, or if you ever watch this, just thank you for covering me in some of the most beautiful artwork that I have ever seen in my entire life," he said.

Jeffree later took to Twitter to echo the same sentiments of the video, telling his fans that it was a "very personal video" and that he cherishes "every portrait" that Kat tattooed onto his body.

"Thank you to everyone for letting me be open and honest," he wrote. "This was a hard video to film but I think it’s important and helps the healing."

Many fans also saw the video as a sign that perhaps the two might be able to reconcile.

But, as Jeffree put it himself, only time will tell.
