Jeannie Hsieh suffers from agoraphobia?

18 Jan – Although known for her sexy and fiery performance on stage, it was recently revealed that Taiwanese singer Jeannie Hsieh actually suffers from agoraphobia - the type of anxiety disorder involving the public and social situations.

As reported on Epoch Times, Jeannie's condition was revealed by her manager following criticisms from netizens about her rare public appearance and tendency to avoid people on the street.

Her manager stated that Jeannie suffers from an anxiety disorder in which she is afraid of being in situations involving a large group of people. He said that although she used to suffer panic attacks in her childhood, Jeannie is doing better now after becoming a performer.

He also stressed that the singer could still perform as long as she can prepare herself mentally for it, but prefers to stay at home when she has free time.

Many believed that the singer's condition might have been triggered by her childhood, after living in fear of debt collectors after their late father left the family behind to shoulder his debt.

On the other hand, her manager said that Jeannie has decided to open up about her situation so to encourage others with similar issue to overcome their fears and live happily.
