Jazz Boon cast Nina Paw because of "Rigor Mortis?"

8 Aug - TVB producer Jazz Boon recently shared that Nina Paw's performance in the horror movie, "Rigor Mortis" is the reason why he decided to offer her the role of iron lady Ling Hung in his new drama, "The Unholy Alliance".

According to Mingpao, the producer, who sat down for an interview to promote the upcoming drama, shared that while the ATV actress was famously known for her motherly roles, he saw how she insidious she can be through her role as Aunt Meiyi in the Juno Mak movie.

In "Rigor Mortis", Nina plays an old woman who was determined to resurrect her dead husband, and causing more destruction when she finally does.

"When I was creating the role, I fashioned her to be the combination of both a modern day Empress Wu Zetian and the female version of the Godfather. On the one hand, she loves her son, on the other, she is also a mob boss running several syndicates," he explained.

When asked whether it's Nina or Nancy who is considered the bigger star of the drama, Jazz said that he would rather consider his drama as a project with an ensemble cast rather than one or two lead stars.

"Each actor contributed to the drama. For me, it's indispensable," he added.
