Jay Chou unsure fans will believe new album's release date

5 May – After taking so long to release a new album, Jay Chou is now worried that fans won't believe him that he is releasing one this year.

On 3 May, the Taiwanese multi-hyphenate shared a photo of what looked to be a shooting location for a music video, with a cameraman setting up the camera for a piano scene.

"If I were to tell you [guys] that I will be releasing my upcoming new album in June/July, would you [guys] not believe it again?" the singer asked.

So, when will Jay drop his new album?
So, when will Jay drop his new album?

In response, several fans joked that he did not mention whether it would be June or July of this year or five years from now.

One netizen also commented that the best thing for all of them is for the singer to release one album in June, and the other one in July to compensate for the lack of a new album for the past seven years.

It is noted that the last studio album released by Jay was 2016's "Jay Chou's Bedtime Stories", which was unveiled following the birth of daughter Hathaway.

He did release several singles since then, including 2020's "Mojito", inspired by his trip to Cuba.
