Jasmine Suraya on standby as LA wildfires threaten West Hollywood

15 Jan - Jasmine Suraya Chin recently revealed that her residential area in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, is on high alert due to ongoing wildfires.

The 36-year-old Malaysian actress, who is attending acting school in the area, shared that while the local authorities have lifted the curfew, residents have been advised to keep essential items ready in case evacuation becomes necessary.

"So far, my residential area is at the second level of alert, with the critical being level three," she explained. "The wind conditions are currently unstable and expected to strengthen. There are still active fires in some locations, and I'm concerned the wind conditions could cause the fire to spread."

Jasmine, who has been studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute since last year, reported that while her residential area remains safe for now, residents have been warned to stay vigilant as wind speeds are predicted to increase in the coming days.

"I'm okay at present," she said. "But I remember my hands were shaking while packing my belongings because my phone was overwhelmed with urgent evacuation messages, and the notification sound was blaring like an alarm."

Last week, the actress posted a video of the Runyon Canyon fire, noting that it was just ten minutes away from her residence.
