Japanese Souffle pancake cafe Flipper’s Taka branch closes 8 Oct

Flipper’s will be closing their Takashimaya branch and offering an exclusive 1-for-1 promotion till its last day on 8 Oct. Pancake lovers should be more than acquainted with their incredibly fluffy souffle pancakes originating from Japan.

Flipper's Takashimaya Closure - Interior

The announcement of Flipper’s Taka branch closure was made on 18 Sep via a Facebook post along with a mention of ‘a relocation to the WEST’. No need to speculate as it’s been revealed that their new outlet will be at Westgate, with an estimated opening date of 9 Oct.

Since their first cafe at Omotesando, Tokyo, in 2014, Flipper’s has gone global with branches in New York, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Seoul.

Flipper's Takashimaya closure - Sweet pancakes

Their selection of Sweet Kiseki Pancakes includes Maple Butter Cream, Fresh Fruits Maple Butter Cream, as well as Hazelnut Chocolate with hazelnut praline cream and caramelised bananas. Seasonal specials continue to make their rounds, with the current one being Muscat Green Grape.

Flipper's Takashimaya closure - Egg Benedict

Those who prefer more from the savoury front with extravagant protein options can dig into the Eggs Benedict, topped with poached Hinata eggs, tiger prawns, avocado cubes and smoked salmon. Their Honey Chicken is a combination of honey mustard chicken, Hinata scrambled egg, turkey bacon, and chicken sausage with herbs piled atop pillowy pancakes.

If the new Westgate outlet hasn’t opened after Flipper’s Taka closure, you can still drop by the Bugis outlet to quell those fuwa fuwa cravings.

Do note the 1-for-1 promotion is limited to 2 complimentary Maple Butter Cream Pancakes per table, and only valid for dine-ins between 11am and 4pm on weekdays.
