Japanese actress lands a 'key role' in "Deadpool 2"

"Deadpool 2" will be arriving in theatres in 2018

13 Jun – Fox's highly anticipated "Deadpool 2" has recently added Japanese actress Shiori Kutsuna to its ever-growing cast list.

Deadline reports that Kutsuna will play a 'key role' in the movie, though no further details on her character or the movie's plot were disclosed.

Kutsuna is just the latest name on the list of newcomers to join the "Deadpool" sequel.

Shiori Kutsuna as the popular Ran Mouri in "Detective Conan", the live-action prequel of the anime with the same name.

Previously, Jack Kesy has reportedly been cast as an unknown villain, while Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz were cast as the mutants Cable and Domino respectively.

Returning to reprise their roles from the first movie are Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Stefan Kapicic, Brianna Hildebrand T.J. Miller and, last but not least, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

David Leitch is directing the movie, taking over from the prequel's director, Tim Miller.

Kutsuna was most recently seen in "Oh Lucy!", which premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival, opposite Josh Hartnett and will next appear in "The Outsider" with Jared Leto.

"Deadpool 2" has yet to begin filming, though the movie will be released next year on 1 June 2018 in the U.S.
