When people mention Hokkaido, you would think of the snowy landscape and the abundant seafood. As we approach the winter season, are you considering visiting the Hokkaido region in Japan?

Hokkaido is Japan’s second-largest island — after the main island, or Honshu, where major cities like Tokyo and Osaka are located. It forms Japan’s biggest and northernmost prefecture, which is why it has harsher winters and colder summers than the other parts of Japan.

After looking at the things you can do in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, here’s what you can experience in the vast Hokkaido region.
