Janine Gutierrez weighs in on playing Valentina
3 Feb – Although there has been no confirmation to the rumours that Janine Gutierrez could be playing the iconic villain Valentina to Jane de Leon's Darna, the actress has no qualms doing it if such offer comes her way.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who recently inked a management contract with the Kapamilya network, stated that she has always been a fan of Darna just like everybody else.
"I am a fan of all the old films. As a child, I watched my grandmother [music icon Pilita Corrales] played Valentina in a movie," she said.
The said movie was the 1994's "Darna: Ang Pagbabalik", with Anjanette Abayari playing the superhero.
"Of course, I am flattered that other people see me participating in that kind of project. I don't know, we'll see," she said.
"Darna" the TV series is currently in development following news that the movie project - which had faced continuous delays since 2015 - was postponed indefinitely due to the pandemic.
