Janine Chang's work pays off with Best Supporting Actress win

16 Nov – Taiwanese actress Janine Chang was pleasantly surprised to be awarded with the Best Supporting Actress at the 24th Huading Awards for her role in the 2017 series, "The Advisors Alliance".

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke to the media after accepting her award at the event held at the AsiaWorld-Expo recently, shared that she is happy that her hard work filming the drama for nearly a year finally paid off.

"It took 330 days to shoot this drama, so I am more than happy to receive this recognition," she said.

In the drama, which chronicles the life of military general Sima Yi during the Three Kingdoms period of China, Janine plays the role of Bai Lingyun, the favoured concubine of the said general.

Janine bested other worthy contenders including fan favourite, Charmaine Sheh, who was nominated for her villainess role in "Story of Yanxi Palace".

On the other hand, Janine was also asked about good friend Fan Bingbing, who has not been seen in public since her tax evasion scandal made the news.

She said, "I've texted her, but it is not convenient for me to share what she replied. I hope she is alright."
