Janella Salvador is Valentina to Jane de Leon's Darna
22 Nov – After much anticipation, it was finally revealed that Janella Salvador will be portraying the supervillain Valentina in the upcoming TV adaptation of "Mars Ravelo's Darna".
The actress, who spoke about her involvement in the project recently, stated that she is honoured to have been chosen among the many actresses who auditioned for the role.
"I promise to live up to everyone's expectations but also make it my own," she wrote.
Janella also revealed that she has been working out in preparation for the role, though admitted that she has yet to start training.
"I know it is going to be physically draining but I know I can do it," she said.
Janella will be joining the cast that include Jane de Leon, who will be playing the titular superhero, Iza Calzado as the original Darna, Joshua Garcia, Zaijian Jaranilla and many others.
"Mars Ravelo's Darna: The TV Series" has started filming on 15 November.
