Janella Salvador enjoys playing the villainess

17 Aug – Janella Salvador recently admitted that playing the Darna villainess Valentina is the best decision she has ever made.

Speaking in a recent interview to promote the new Kapamilya series, "Mars Ravelo's Darna", Janella stated that she was originally hesitant about accepting the role of the goddess of the snakes, as she had never been an antagonist in her previous dramas.

"Usually the roles I do, I'm the oppressed or the kind one, something like that. This is my first time doing something like this, playing a supervillain, so I had to deliberate carefully, before finally thinking, why not? And it's one of the best decisions I've ever made," she admitted.

Janella also admitted to enjoy playing both Valentina and her human alter ego Regina, a lawyer and vlogger who ends up becoming friends with Narda (Jane de Leon), who in turn becomes the new Darna.

"Actually, with Jane personally, we didn't immediately become close because we are both introverts but we really made an effort to bond with each other, we really worked on it. And I really want to get to know her too because of course we're here together so we have to be okay. And we're really okay. Like I said we're bonding," she said.

The series premiered on 15 August, following the end of the long-running series, "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano".
