Jamal Abdillah: I told Roslan Shah no!

20 Sep – Datuk Jamal Abdillah has no issue apologising to everybody for not attending an expo held in Singapore that he was expected to attend, but stressed that it was Roslan Shah who should be apologising instead.

The singer, who addressed Roslan's allegations against him, after the entertainer seemingly accusing him of lying and causing Roslan a RM33,000 in losses over his absence, stated that he had told the entertainer time and time again that he would not be able to attend the expo.

"I repeatedly explained that I could not come to Singapore. I still remember talking to Roslan for over an hour on the way from Kuantan, Pahang to Dungun, Terengganu, but Roslan kept persuading," he said.

Jamal stated that despite declining the invitation numerous times due to other obligations, Roslan continued to pester him.

"I would be having a concert in Singapore at the end of the year. It's a paid show, so I don't want to interfere with the sales of tickets. However, Roslan insisted that tickets can be sold. Indeed, they can be sold, but the timing is not right. After so many back and forth, I just said yes to get it over with," he said.

Jamal, however, stated that he didn't sign any agreement with Roslan regarding his appearance, and that the latter also mentioned him in the promotions without his permission.

"I do believe he has his own agenda, which is why he even paid for the flight tickets and accommodation," he said.

At the same time, the singer stated that he would apologise to his Singaporean fans for the misunderstanding between him and the organizer, but that it was Roslan who should apologise to him for defaming his good name.

In previous entries via Instagram Story, Roslan stated that Jamal failed to attend the show after promising him that he would, causing him a loss of SGD 10,000 that includes flight tickets, accommodation, publicity and the negative impact on the organiser's reputation.
