12 May – It was reported that Jackie Chan is set to star in a new action movie alongside Sylvester Stallone, titled "Ex-Baghdad".

As reported on Deadline, this will be the first time the two international action stars will be working together.

Chan will play the role of a Chinese private security contractor who teams up with a former Marine, played by the former "Expendables" star, to stop a group of people who attacked a China-run oil refinery in Mosul, Iraq from stealing a fortune's worth of oil.

They must then work together to extract and escort the oil workers through Baghdad's "Highway of Death" to the safety of the Green Zone.

The said movie, written by Arash Amel of "Grace of Monaco", will be directed by Scott Waugh ("Act of Valor", "xXx", "Need for Speed").

"Ex-Baghdad" will be given a budget of USD80 million, thus making it one of the biggest budget films to come out of China.

Chan also serves as one of the producers of the movie under his company's banner, SR Media. Talent International's Esmond Ren with Qi Jianhong and filmmaker Hans Canosa will be producing as well.

Chan was last seen on screen earlier this year in "Kung Fu Yoga". No release date has been set yet for "Ex-Baghdad".
