Jackie Chan is in "The Miracles of the Namiya General Store"
8 Nov – After it was reported that Dilraba Dilmurat is starring in the Chinese-adaptation of the hit Keigo Higashino's novel, "The Miracles of the Namiya General Store", it was revealed that top star Jackie Chan is also part of the cast of the said movie, which is set to be released this December.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor, who plays the old man Namiya who runs the titular store, shared that he has never actually read the best-selling novel and is only making reference based on the story told to him by the producer.
"Since the producer and I have worked in many films, I trust his judgment. I also liked the character that was offered to me," he said.
Jackie also admitted that he decided to take the role since it's hard for him to run into such a good script, even if he has to play an elderly character.
"I don't mind it. I played old man in "The Karate Kid" and "The Foreigner". As an actor, I have to be able to try any character," he said.
Jackie also hopes that the audience will love the movie, and can accept him in such a role that has nothing to do with martial arts.
