Jack Neo's Diam Diam Era movies to be available on Netflix
SINGAPORE — Jack Neo's Diam Diam Era movies have been picked up by Netflix, with the first of the two-part series to be released on the streaming service on 28 May, and part two, on 8 August.
The Diam Diam Era films, starring Mark Lee, Richie Koh and Danny Lee, are themselves part of director Neo's Long Long Time Ago series, which are historical comedy-dramas set in Singapore's post-independence years.
We didn't like the Diam Diam Era movies – read our review for part one here, and part two here – but apparently they're popular enough to make it onto Netflix.
Netflix had previously onboarded Singaporean content for its Asian markets. Last year, the streamer released over 100 Singaporean classic films and TV shows that include Growing Up, Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd, The Unbeatables, Ilo Ilo, and 12 Storeys.
Other Jack Neo movies on Netflix include movies from his I Not Stupid and Ah Boys To Men series.
