Irene Wan admits disappointment with no HKFA nomination
20 May – Irene Wan recently admitted that she felt disappointed that her movie, "The Fallen" received no nomination at the Hong Kong Film Awards earlier.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who won Best Actress at Dublin's 8th Silk Road International Film Festival for her role in the said movie back in January, shared that she really believed that the movie was good enough to win something at the said awards, even if she didn't win for her performance.
"But not only was I not nominated, the movie didn't even get any nomination in the technical side. I was a little disappointed when the shortlist was announced earlier," she said.
The same thing previously happened with her 2007 movie, "Exodus", the actress added, saying that she didn't get any nomination despite being confident with her performance in the movie.
When asked if she felt discouraged, Irene said that there will always be frustrations and low points in one's life.
"The only thing that hasn't changed is my enthusiasm and faith in making movies," she added.
The 39th Hong Kong Film Awards recently named Chinese actress Zhou Dongyu as Best Actress for her performance in "Better Days".
