Irene Villamor defends Nadine Lustre after online insult
17 Oct – Director Irene Villamor recently took to social media to defend the star of her new movie, Nadine Lustre from bashers.
As reported on Inquirer, one netizen recently went on the comment section of Carlo Aquino's Instagram - particularly his latest post about the movie "Ulan", which he co-starred with Lustre - to insult the actress, saying good luck to Aquino as a box office star was going to work with a "flop queen".
"Hahaha. When the agency and director not confident with the lead actress and 2 LM, only solution is, need to find one big star to make this movie success and be acceptable by nonfans bcz of the lead actress image," wrote the netizen.
While neither Lustre nor Aquino responded to the insult, Villamor, who is helming the new movie, decided to step in and express her feelings about the comment.
"The world is already full of hate that any ill wish to anyone should be treated back with kindness, with an understanding of the soul, and not with apathy to the human condition. Spread love my dear. Let us not add to the drudgery, and that is for everyone too."
She also added that it will be her first and last response about the matter.
