The internet pleads with Theresa May to have a 'Love Actually moment' with Trump

Theresa May might have a bit of soul searching to do, following Donald Trump’s spectacular vote of no confidence in her via an interview with The Sun, delivered with all the grace and manners of an ungrateful house guest.

Chatting to the newspaper during his visit to the UK, he’s said recently resigned foreign secretary Boris Johnson would make a great replacement for her, and added that her plan for Brexit will ‘kill off’ any hope of a encompassing trade deal with the US.

So, of course, the internet is prescribing our embattled premier a large dose of Love Actually, ahead of her press conference with Trump from Chequers this afternoon.

As you may recall from the classic Richard Curtis rom-com, Hugh Grant’s prime minister uses the backdrop of a press conference to deal Billy Bob Thornton’s bullying US president a few public blows, after what appears to have been an inappropriate moment between the president and Grant’s character’s would be love, Natalie, played by Martine McCutcheon.
