Inaugural Wisma Geylang Serai Hari Raya Bazaar launched

The Hari Raya bazaar around the Wisma Geylang Serai heritage hub is set to be a major draw this Ramadan, with close to 3,000 stalls selling food, clothes and festive ornaments.

On Thursday night (17 May), the bazaar was launched in conjunction with the opening of the ASEAN Street Fair, which is part of Singapore’s efforts to promote Southeast Asian cultures as chairman of the regional grouping in 2018.

The guest of honour at the launch was Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan while Maliki Osman, Senior Minister of State for the Ministries of Defence and Foreign Affairs, hosted the event attended by Ambassadors and High Commissioners of ASEAN countries.

Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore went down to check out the food on offer in this new section of the sprawling Geylang Serai bazaar.
