'Curviest Model Ever' Hunter McGrady launches fashion line with QVC: 'I think it's important to put your money where your mouth is'

Hunter McGrady, a modeling industry trailblazer and body-positivity icon, has launched her own size- inclusive fashion line with QVC called All Worthy.

McGrady catapulted into the spotlight after appearing in Sports Illustrated’s 2017 swimsuit issue as their “Curviest Model Ever” at size 16. Her love of modeling actually stems from her childhood. “I grew up being in the business, whether it was my mom modeling or my dad acting. I would look at my mom's modeling photos, and I was just always enamored by her. She would tell me stories, like ‘Hunter, we’ve never had [a popular] plus-size [model]. So that was a big reason why I wanted to get into this and wanted to be a part of it,” McGrady tells Yahoo Life.

McGrady famously created the viral hashtag #AllWorthy on Instagram in 2017 to encourage body acceptance. Since then, she has become an advocate for size inclusivity in media and fashion, using her platform to debunk misconceptions about being plus size and showcasing the beauty in all bodies.

Now, McGrady is on a mission to spread her message of radical self-love even further with her first-ever fashion line by the same name: All Worthy. Created in partnership with QVC, a leader in launching size-inclusive apparel, accessories and footwear brands, McGrady says the union felt like a natural fit from the start.

“When I met with [QVC], I told them my vision, and they told me their vision of what they're looking for — and it was like, love at first sight,” she explains. “They've been really wonderful with me, giving me creative reign, and they have put so much trust in me. It's just been such an honor.”

McGrady notes: "I don't have the luxury of going down 5th Avenue or Soho and popping into any store and finding my size. I want all the things I see in the window, I want all the fabulous things I see in these stores, but they just don't offer it. So I took that matter in my own hands and said, ‘Well, I'm just going to make it then.’”

All Worthy, celebrates everybody. Available from XXS to 5X, the brand offers high-quality pieces that not only fits a wide range of body types but makes people feel good too. Even better: all of the styles come in every size.

“I always have said that I dream of a world where me and all my girlfriends of all sizes, we can go into a store or shop online and buy the same garment in every single style in the same prospective size. And because that was a dream of mine, I wanted to contribute to that in any way I could,” says McGrady.

Designed from a plus-size point of view, the line features pieces McGrady and supporters of her have always wanted in their size but could never find. “I was inspired by women who feel like they're not heard in this world and especially plus-size women who really don't have the chance to wear things that they want to wear. It's just not offered to them,” she says.

McGrady adds, "I can't go out and speak on inclusivity and how important inclusivity is and then have a line come out and not be inclusive. I think it's important to put your money where your mouth is and that was just something that I wasn't willing to compromise on."

One of those standout pieces is the All Worthy Hunter McGrady Stretch Crepe Full Length Jumpsuit. It’s designed with a sweetheart-and-lace neckline and waist-cinching belt that accentuates curves. “We have a jumpsuit that I absolutely love. It is just like something that I've been wanting for so long. I'm 6 feet tall and I can never find anything in my length,” McGrady explains.

In addition to its robust size range, the All Worthy fashion line also takes height into account, by offering the pieces in petite, regular and tall lengths. This attention to detail proves just how committed McGrady is to delivering a fun shopping experience for everyone and clothes that “makes them feel like the best version of themselves,” she says.

Ultimately, McGrady hopes All Worthy shows other designers and fashion houses the importance and need for size-inclusive clothing. She says, “It’s time that we live in a world where [people of all sizes] can all shop the same exact thing because a lot of women, contrary to popular belief by the media, are proud of [their] bodies, want to show it off and feel good in them.”
