Hugo Wong: I will take full responsibility!

20 Jun - TVB actor Hugo Wong has recently addressed the apparent love triangle that has existed between him, Japanese actress Hiromi Wada, and her estranged non-showbiz husband, Jason Lam.

The situation was triggered by Jason's recent video confession, where he admitted to have been surprised by Hiromi's statement about an impending divorce. He also called out to Hugo to take responsibility of his wife if the actor really cares about her.

As reported on On CC, the actor, who was approached by the media on the set of his new drama, "White Hot Pursuit", stressed that he has nothing to say about the issue except that "[Hiromi] once told me that she is no longer with her husband."

When asked if he is denying allegations that he is the third party in their relationship, the actor said, "I will talk about that later. The important thing here is that I was told they are no longer together."

In a video that he posted on Instagram on 19 June, Hugo explained his side of the story, that he met Hiromi six months ago and was told by the actress that she has been living at her friend's place following a domestic abuse problem at home.

According to Hugo, it was then that Hiromi told him that she and Jason have separated.

"After I learned about her situation, I felt the need to protect and support her. But now the situation has come to this, and I realised that I have affected TVB and other people," he said.

Hugo stated that he will accept any decision TVB makes because of the scandal, and that he will take full responsibility and criticism over the matter.

Hugo also admitted that he made a huge mistake by not understanding the actual situation between Hiromi and her husband, though stressed that all he wanted was for the actress to be happy.
