Hubert Wu and Regina Ho ready for "Return of the Cuckoo"

3 Feb – Although they will be playing roles that were already synonymous with Julian Cheung and Charmaine Sheh, Hubert Wu and Regina Ho recently assured that they will not be afraid of the challenge.

As reported on Mingpao, the two stars, who will play the leads in the upcoming remake of TVB's hit drama, "Return of the Cuckoo", shared that the comparison will be inevitable, seeing that the original drama was a classic and beloved by many.

"There will be pressure, of course. But I will try my best to play my role in the new version," said Hubert.

Regina concurred, adding that she had also watched the previous drama before working on their project, though not to be used as reference.

"I was looking for something to contrast to from the original and add my own elements to the character of Kwan Ho," she said.

On the other hand, Hubert, who appeared at the press conference of the said drama on crutches, revealed that he injured his right foot after falling down in the dark during a shoot in Lau Fau Shan.

"The staff helped me ice it, but when we went to the hospital, the doctor said it was fractured. I'm not sure how long it would take to recover. The crew said that it's fine. I can just use my upper body for my scenes," he said.

The original series, which was broadcast in 2000, tells the story of the relationship between Man Cho, a man who was rendered mute as a child as a result of his mother's cruelty, and Kwan Ho, the daughter of the woman who took him in.
