Hubert Wu learns his lesson from heated cigarettes controversy
19 Feb - Hubert Wu recently made an appearance for the first time since his heated cigarettes case, where he apologised for the mistakes he made.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who performed at the Hong Kong Wedding Festival in Wan Chai on 17 February, stated that he really has disappointed his family, friends, his company and his fans, despite them coming to the event to show support for him.
"I am truly unhappy about this. I am disappointed in myself. After what had happened, I promise that I will be careful about everything to ensure that I will not make such a mistake again," he said.
It is noted that Hubert was reprimanded after he brought a large number of heated cigarettes into Hong Kong from mainland China late last month. The case will go to court soon.
When mentioned that he previously spoke about buying it for a friend, Hubert stated that he normally would buy things for friends since he often works to and fro mainland China and Hong Kong.
"But I have to bear the responsibility for this. The most important thing is to learn all the laws to ensure that you are familiar with what you can and cannot bring with you," he said.
As for his court case, Hubert said that he is waiting to receive the subpoena and will work with his management on dealing with the issue.
"During this period, I have to do a lot of self-reflection and suspend my work. I want to be more committed to the company, but I am currently working on a commercial and filming the series "Prism Breakers", so I have to continue to perform," he said.
However, the singer said that he is willing to bear all consequences, if that meant that he will have to withdraw from any of his projects.
