Huang An expresses happiness over Tzuyu's apology

18 Jan - Taiwanese singer Huang An, who seemed oblivious to the uproar he caused after his previous call for boycott against 16-year-old Taiwanese singer Tzuyu, has been celebrating his success in getting the singer to apologise for waving the flag of Taiwan.

According to Focus Taiwan, the 53-year-old pro-China singer recently expressed his happiness over Tzuyu's apology, as he gloated on Weibo, "We have won back a good child who identifies with the motherland."

"It is yet another achievement in the people of the motherland's fight against Taiwan Independence," he added.

This isn't the first time that the singer's patriotism has caused other stars to be banned from China or their performances cancelled in the country.

Back in November 2015, he reported Taiwanese singer Crowd Lu for supporting Taiwan Independence, causing the singer to be banned from a mainland music festival.

A few days before his boycott against Tzuyu, the singer also cost Hong Kong actor Wong Hei his appearance on the variety show, "Infinite Challenge", when he reported that the actor once hinted about former Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai being secretly gay.
