Hu Ge is the most valuable Chinese celebrity this year
5 Dec - Chinese actor Hu Ge has topped the 100 Most Valuable Chinese Celebrities this year, which was released by mainland business magazine, CBN Weekly.
According to Epoch Times, the actor, whose popularity has been on the rise since starring in "Nirvana in Fire", "Good Times", and "The Disguiser" last year, climbed to the top with 90 points, becoming the industry's most recognised star with the highest commercial value.
The second place goes to Angelababy, who remains active in showbiz despite tying the knot with actor Huang Xiaoming, with many insiders saying that her pregnancy has not affected her full appeal in the eyes of advertisers.
This is followed by actor Deng Chao, whose film "The Mermaid" broke box office record as the highest grossing Chinese movie of all time.
Meanwhile, Fan Bingbing, who topped the list and others of similar kind previously, was placed fourth, followed by Liu Tao, Jay Chou, singer Luhan, Zanilia Zhao, Deng Chao's wife Betty Sun Li, and Yang Yang, in that order.
The research and result were based on statistical data from September 2015 to October 2016, as well as the stars' revenue data and the Forbes 2016 Chinese Celebrity list.
