South Congress Avenue is one of the coolest and buzziest hangout spots in Austin, Texas, with eclectic shopping boutiques, art galleries, and food trucks. But step inside the newly renovated Frame Hotel - Treehouse, and the hustle and bustle of SoCo falls away.

The property, which bills itself as a "modern tree house for grown-ups," opens its doors on January 1, 2025. It has just seven guest rooms and suites encircling a multilevel courtyard, all shaded under the lush canopy of two centuries-old Oak Trees, creating a tree house feel. And with Arne Jacobsen egg chairs and an Eames surfboard coffee table, the hotel feels like an upscale take on your childhood dream house. There is a 25-foot glass water feature in the courtyard, which is the perfect place to unwind after sightseeing in the city.

Design is key to creating a memorable experience at Frame Hotel - Treehouse. The accommodations, ranging from 300 to 500 square feet, are a study of simplicity, featuring oversized windows, sliding doors, neutral hues, natural textures, custom art, and shoppable decor. The bathrooms are clad in mint-colored tile, oozing a distinct midcentury-modern vibe, and feature plush towels, Malin + Goetz toiletries, and walk-in showers (the suites also have soaking tubs).

Though the architecture is rooted in nature, the hotel has modern-tech amenities, like an electric car charging station, keyless entry, and a digital concierge available via the hotel's online guest portal.

Frame Hotel - Treehouse is the sibling property of the newly built Frame Hotel – SoCo, located across the street. The adjacent hotel has a serene garden with a koi pond, and the 20 ryokan-style suites come with private patios.
