The Honeymooners Reboot Eyed at CBS
Like it or not, CBS is taking a stab at recreating one of its most beloved sitcoms of all time.
The network is currently in the midst of developing a new take on The Honeymooners, THR.com reports.

The reboot, being helmed by The Muppets‘ Bob Kushell, would once again center on two couples who double as best friends and neighbors — only this time, one of the couples remarries after divorcing each other four years prior. (Perhaps Ralph and Alice separated after he threatened to send her to the moon one too many times?) As you’ll recall, the original series was spun off from The Jackie Gleason Show, and starred Audrey Meadows, Art Carney, Joyce Randolph and Gleason.
The decision to develop a Honeymooners reboot comes just weeks after CBS opted not to order additional episodes of its Odd Couple reboot starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon, which has struggled in the ratings in its current third season. A film adaptation of The Honeymooners, featuring Cedric the Entertainer, Gabrielle Union, Mike Epps and Regina Hall, was released in 2005 to ghastly reviews and even worse box office numbers.
No word yet if CBS is also rebooting Captain Video.
