If you're already obsessed with HomeGoods, here's another reason to love the Massachusetts-based company for something other than its discounted throws and quirky cute décor.

TJX Cos., which also owns the Marshalls and TJ Maxx chains, has continued to pay its employees in Puerto Rico even though its stores there have remained closed after a hurricane devastated the island leaving residents without fresh water and electricity six weeks ago.

"We believe it is the right thing for us to do under these circumstances," Erika Tower, a TJX spokeswoman, told the Boston Globe, after confirming that the company is still sending paychecks to its employees at all 29 Marshalls, TJ Maxx and HomeGoods stores in Puerto Rico.

While Tower would not say how many people TJX employs in Puerto Rico or exactly how many of their stores are closed there, she confirmed that TJX done this "from time to time under extreme circumstances" after other natural disasters.
